Root Canal Treatments
When a tooth is compromised our preference is to save it via root canal therapy (RCT). RCT involves removing the pulp (sensitive nerves, blood vessels) to stop bacteria and to help alleviate pain and discomfort that may result from inflammation and infection.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth are the 1-4 molars at the back of your mouth that can potentially develop during your late teens and young adolescence. The good news is that wisdom teeth do not always need to be removed. It is possible for these molars to penetrate gum tissue without affecting your jaw or other teeth.
An extraction may be required, however, if the teeth are crowded and there is not enough space in the jaw to support the new molar(s). Similarly, you can prevent acute pain, gum inflammation and other hygiene issues with a regular scale and clean and check-up to pre-empt trouble.
At Greenvale Dentistry we have the facilities to radiograph (X-ray) your mouth to assess the angle of eruption (if applicable) and whether further action is required to promote positive oral health.
Dentures
Sometimes, despite preventative measures such as scale and cleans and regular check-ups to maintain teeth for life, our patients choose to replace their pearly whites with an artificial set.
